Add Color To A White Kitchen
The white kitchen has been a mainstay for many years and is the best option for anyone according to most experts. Although white does give the kitchen a clean and bright look, it also is like a blank slate for adding your own design touches if you want to add a little more life to your kitchen. There are a number of ways to add some colourful accents to your white kitchen, depending on your budget and how much colour you want to add. And here are some of them. Paint one or all of your walls a different colour. Choose a colour that goes well with the adjacent room and is fitting for a kitchen; yellow and blue are popular colours for kitchens. Add a backsplash of stainless steel, coloured tile or natural stone. The backsplash is the section of wall behind the stove and between the countertops and cabinets. Display small kitchen appliances and accessories that add colourful accents. Items like toasters, juicers and mixers come in a variety of fun colours, so you can put a few appliances on your countertops and add matching accessories such as dish towels, pot holders and colourful olive-oil bottles.
Place fresh flowers and plants on the countertops and windowsills in your white kitchen. If there is space between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling, you can place plants there as well. Hang a painting on the wall or add a shelf that you can use to display colourful china. If you have a cabinet with glass doors, arrange colourful plates and glasses so they can be seen through the doors.
