Cleaning Instructions For Stainless Steel Appliances
In today’s modern kitchen, stainless steel appliances are treasured investments. Though stainless steel appliances add a more contemporary, industrial appearance to a home, they can also blend in with any pre-existing decor. However, stainless steel responds well to cleaning, when proper care is taken and the instructions in the user’s manual are followed. And here are some cleaning instructions for stainless steel appliances. Combine 1 teaspoon of dish detergent with about a quart of hot water to make a gentle cleaning solution. Wet a soft, clean cloth with the cleaning solution. Wring the cloth out, and then use it to wipe down the stainless steel. If you look closely, you’ll see that stainless steel has a slight grain. Make sure you rub with the grain when cleaning. You can scrub away tough dirt with a nylon scrubbie if necessary, but never use anything more abrasive than this on stainless steel. Rinse the appliance by wetting a fresh cloth with plain hot water. Run the damp cloth over the stainless steel to rinse it, again moving with the grain.
Dry the appliance thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth to prevent water spots. Polish the dry stainless steel appliances with a soft cloth dampened with lemon oil or your favorite stainless steel polish. Buff the polish back off with a dry cloth to restore shine to the surface. As always, make sure you rub with the grain when buffing.
