Creating Beautiful Fireplace Candelabras
Candelabras meant to be displayed in your fireplace come in just as many designs and styles as any other candle holder. Look for one that fits into your home’s aesthetics to create a seamless look in your room. There are several ways to create fireplace candelabras. Here are some of them. First of all, place the birch log on a work surface. Measure the log with a tape measure and mark it at 2, 6, 12 and 20 inches from one end using a pencil. Lay the birch log horizontally on a mitre saw. Cut the log at each pencil mark by pulling the trigger and guiding the saw through the log. Raise the saw back to the start button and release the trigger to complete each cut. You will now have a 2-inch, 4-inch, 6-inch and 8-inch section of log. Discard the scrap piece.
Center the sections of log on the table of the drill press, one at a time, on one end. Drill a 3/4-inch deep hole in the centre of one end of each log section using a 1 1/2-inch drill bit in the drill press. Sand the ends of the log sections lightly with a fine-grit sanding pad until they are completely smooth. Insert one tea light candle into each drilled hole in the ends of the log sections. Place the decorative plate on a work surface. Arrange the log sections in an aesthetically pleasing manner on the plate. These are ways to create fireplace candelabras. All in all, candelabras are a lovely way to enhance your home’s fireplace.
