Leather chairs are popular items to decorate a living room, family room, den and office. You can now paint that old discolored leather chairs of yours a variety of colors, including metallic shades, with a minimum of effort. Here are the instructions. Wash the leather chairs thoroughly with the alcohol-based cleaner and the soft cloth, removing any oil or dirt completely. Let the leather chairs dry thoroughly for 1 hour. Apply painter’s tape to any area of the chair frame that you will not paint. Move the chairs to a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Place the chairs on a large disposable drop cloth. Shake the paint can for 1 minute to mix the paint.
Apply spray paint to the leather with a smooth movement, covering the entire leather area with a heavy coat of the paint. Hold the paint can at least 6 inches from the chair to eliminate paint runs. The paint will appear wet. Let the paint dry for 4 hours. Apply a second layer of spray paint to the leather chairs with a smooth movement. Let the paint dry for 4 hours. Repeat for a third coat. Remove the painter’s tape carefully.
