Maintenance Tips For Your Hot Tub
A hot tub is a great way to relax after a workout or long day at work. Hot tub maintenance is required to keep the water sparkling and clean. This will enhance your enjoyment of your spa. Although maintenance may take some time, it is well worth the effort to have a clean and healthy spa in which you can soak in after a long day at work. Here are some maintenance tips for your hot tub. Keep the cover of the hot tub clean with a leather cleaner. This needs to be done once a month during the summer months and every couple of months during the fall and spring months. If the winter months are cold, do not clean the leather cover. Once a week, take a bristle brush and brush down the inside sides of the hot tub. Any debris on the bottom should be pumped out with the miniature sump pump. This will help keep the water clean. Weekly, check the pH level and chlorine level of the hot tub. Chemicals should be added as need to keep the pH and chorines levels stable.
Twice a year, if not more, drain the hot tub with the drain plug underneath the decking and replace with clean water and chemicals. This is an added protection for water contamination. Every year, unbolt the motor and oil. Refer to the user’s manual for each make and model hot tub to see what parts need to be oiled.
