Ways To Build Wall Mounted Desk Furniture
Having furniture like a wall mounted desk is the perfect idea. This is also a one-weekend project for a DIY homeowner. Here are several ways to build wall mounted desk furniture. Identify the specific location for mounting the desk and remove all unnecessary materials from that section of the room. Measure and mark a suitable wall height with respect to the height of the chair that accompanies the desk. Drill several holes along the marked height on the concrete wall and carefully insert the wall anchors in them. Use a 1/8-inch drill bit when making the holes. However, lumber walls do not require anchor points. Place the 2-by-4 lumber piece on the working table and measure a length of 36 inches from its edge. Mark this point and use a circular saw to cut out the horizontal support. Measure, mark, and cut two 8-inch vertical supports from the 2-by-4 lumber. Bevel one end of the two vertical supports at an angle of 45 degrees.
Align the 36-inch horizontal support on the wall anchors. Position it parallel to the floor with the help of a spirit level. Position one of the birdsmouth brackets on the left vertical support. Ensure that the top edge of the bracket is in line with the edge of the horizontal support. Secure the bracket on the vertical support with pocket-hole screws. Use the same procedure to attach the right birdsmouth bracket. Take the 40-inch 1-by-16 plywood piece and place it on top of the brackets. Ensure that the top surface resides on the center on the brackets. Pre-drill the attachment points and screw the top surface to the horizontal support and the brackets. Fill the countersink holes with wood filler. These are some ways to build wall mounted desk furniture.
